Overview

The Install Service Technician Lead is responsible for providing overall direction for field installation of assigned projects. Owns direct responsibility for field labor, labor coordination, quality control, and safety on assigned projects. Represents the company on the project site and ensures that the installation functions as designed and satisfies the contracted scope.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits fundamental understanding of the estimating process.
  • Plan reading, coordination, layout, sketching and materials take-off.
  • Material, tool and equipment handling including ordering, receiving, placing and returning.
  • Leads installation and replacement of boilers, RTUs, UHs, EFs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, VRF systems, heat exchangers, stream traps, VAVs, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, ERVs, radiant heaters, air curtains, air rotation, water heaters, UV lights, air cleaners, ionizers, etc.
  • Startup & Commissioning of all HVAC & refrigeration equipment listed above.
  • Correctly uses contract specifications to develop shop-drawing standards.
  • Correctly outlines proper techniques and equipment for use during field measuring.
  • Building code and project specification compliance.
  • Monitoring quality control.
  • Demonstrates proper use of PPE.
  • Inspects and tests the installation.
  • Promotes and performs all aspects of Company safety procedures and policies.
  • Support sales in estimating
  • Support Service Coordinator in scheduling and coordinating work
  • Support technicians in complex technical issues
  • Support the team in identifying and ordering of parts as needed

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience
  • Must have advanced knowledge of how jobs are assembled in the field.
  • Experience in pipefitting.
  • Experience and understanding of welding.
  • Experience in minor ductwork making transitions to HVAC equipment.
  • Must have experience with managing crews of 2-3 workers.
  • Must be able and willing to follow job-site instructions.
  • Must manage to the budget, plan to the schedule, plan for the unexpected, meet or exceed project deadlines, while keeping safety first.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and supervisory skills required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company�s competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
  • Current Licensed Technician or verifiable experience in service of commercial HVAC & refrigeration systems.
  • Holds an EPA Certification.

Pay Range

USD $36.95 - USD $49.34 /Hr.
